محمد قیوم اعوان(1 جنوری 1957 – 30 جنوری 2012ء) پاکستان کے معروف سول سرونٹ، مصنف، اور مترجم تھے۔ وہ جسٹس پیر محمد کرم شاہ الازہری کی تصنیف ضیاء النبی ﷺ کے انگریزی ترجمے کے لیے مشہور ہیں، جو سیرت النبی ﷺ پر ایک مایہ ناز اردو کتاب ہے۔ ان کی زندگی اور خدمات میں انتظامی مہارت اور ادبی ذوق کا حسین امتزاج نظر آتا ہے۔

ابتدائی زندگی اور تعلیم

محمد قیوم اعوان 1 جنوری 1957 کو تحصیل پنڈی گھیب، ضلع اٹک، پاکستان میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ایک سادہ اور روحانی گھرانے میں پرورش پانے والے اعوان نے بچپن ہی سے ادب اور اسلامی علوم میں دلچسپی پیدا کی۔ ان کی علمی کامیابیاں انہیں سرکاری ملازمت میں لے گئیں، جہاں انہوں نے ایک قابل منتظم اور دانشور کے طور پر اپنا لوہا منوایا۔

اُن کا دورِ ملازمت عوامی فلاح و بہبود اور دیانت داری سے عبارت تھا۔ وہ اپنے ساتھیوں اور عوام میں بے حد احترام کی نظر سے دیکھے جاتے تھے۔

ادبی خدمات

محمد قیوم اعوان نے کل 27 کتب تصنیف کیں، جن میں ذاتی ترقی، بیوروکریسی، روحانیت، اور اسلامی تعلیمات کے موضوعات شامل ہیں۔ ان کا سب سے مشہور کارنامہ ضیاء النبی ﷺ کا انگریزی ترجمہ ہے۔

ضیاء النبی ﷺ کا ترجمہ

• اصل کتاب: جسٹس پیر محمد کرم شاہ الازہری کی تصنیف، جو سیرت النبی ﷺ پر مبنی ہے جوکہ( 3000 سے زائد صفحات پر مشتمل) سات جلدوں پر محیط ہے۔ضیاء النبی کا مطلب ہے ”نبی کا نور“۔ یہ کتاب بیسویں صدی کی اہم ترین اردو تصانیف میں شمار ہوتی ہے، جس کا موضوع حضور نبی کریم ﷺ کی سیرتِ طیبہ ہے۔یہ کتاب پیر محمد کرم شاہ الازہری (1918-1998) نے لکھی، جو کہ پاکستان کے معروف اسلامی اسکالر، جج اور صوفی بزرگ تھے۔

• پہلی مرتبہ یہ کتاب ضیاء القرآن پبلیکیشنز سے 1995 میں شائع ہوئی اور بعد ازاں محمد قیوم اعوان نے اسے انگریزی میں ترجمہ کیا، جو 2005 میں مکمل ہوا۔

1) پہلی جلد میں اسلام سے پہلے مختلف تہذیبوں (ایران، یونان، مصر، ہندوستان، چین اور جزیرہ نما عرب) کی تاریخ اور سماجی حالات کا تفصیلی ذکر کیا گیا ہے۔اس جلد کا مقصد ان معاشروں کی اخلاقی، سماجی اور مذہبی حالت کو بیان کرنا ہے تاکہ اسلام کے آنے سے پہلے کے حالات کو بہتر طور پر سمجھا جا سکے۔

2) دوسری جلد نبی کریم ﷺ کی ولادت، بچپن، پہلی شادی، وحی اور مکی زندگی کی مشکلات پر مبنی ہے۔

3) تیسری جلدمیں ہجرت، مدینہ میں آمد، غزوات اور ”واقعہ افک“ شامل ہیں۔

4) چوتھی جلدمیں غزوہ خندق، صلح حدیبیہ، مکہ فتح، حج اور وصال بیان ہوا ہے۔

5) پانچویں جلد نبی کریم ﷺ کے فضائل، اخلاق، معجزات اور درود و سلام بیان کرتی ہے۔

6) چھٹی جلد: اسلام سے پہلے یہود و نصاریٰ کے حالات اور مستشرقین کے اعتراضات پر مشتمل ہے۔

7) ساتویں جلدمیں مستشرقین کے اعتراضات کے جوابات اور سیرتِ نبوی ﷺ کا دفاع مذکور ہے۔

• کتاب کے اہم نکات:

اسلام سے پہلے کی دنیا کی حالت:کتاب کے پہلے حصے میں مختلف معاشروں کی اخلاقی اور روحانی زوال کو تفصیل سے بیان کیا گیا ہے۔مصنف نے تحقیق کی بنیاد پر یہ دکھایا ہے کہ ان تہذیبوں میں ناانصافی، ظلم، اور طبقاتی فرق عام تھے۔مثال کے طور پر،ایران کے بادشاہ اردشیر کی انصاف پسندی کو سراہا گیا۔یونان کے فلسفی افلاطون کی غیر انسانی نظریات (جیسے بیمار اور معذور بچوں کو قتل کرنا) پر تنقید کی گئی۔

• اسلام کا پیغام:

مصنف نے بتایا کہ اسلام نے کس طرح اس تاریک دور میں روشنی اور انصاف کا پیغام دیا،نبی کریم ﷺ کی تعلیمات نے مساوات، محبت، اور بھائی چارے کی بنیاد رکھی۔یہ کتاب نبی کریم ﷺ کی سیرت پر ایک جامع تحقیق اور مسلمانوں کے لیے ایک قیمتی اثاثہ ہے۔مصنف اور مترجم دونوں نے برسوں کی محنت سے اس کتاب کو مرتب کیا، جس پر امتِ مسلمہ ان کی شکر گزار ہے۔یہ کتاب اسلامی تاریخ اور سیرتِ نبوی ﷺ کو سمجھنے کے لیے ایک بہترین ذریعہ ہے اور مستشرقین کے اعتراضات کا مدلل جواب فراہم کرتی ہے۔

کتاب میں مختلف اسلامی کتب، تاریخی حوالہ جات، اور مستند ماخذات کا ذکر کیا گیا ہے، جن میں سیرت ابنِ ہشام،طبری کی تاریخ،ول ڈیورانٹ کی ”ایج آف فیتھ“اور دیگر کئی مشہور کتب شامل ہیں۔

• مترجم کی جانب سےنظرثانی کی تکمیل: 11 اکتوبر 2005 (7 رمضان المبارک کی شب)۔

• اشاعت: میرے پاس انگریزی زبان میں ترجمہ شُدہ ”ضیاء النبیﷺ“ کا دوسرا ایڈیشن موجود ہے جوکہ دسمبر 2013ء؁میں شائع ہوا۔ترجمہ شدہ کتاب میں پروف ریڈنگ کی(ادارتی) غلطیاں موجود ہیں، جو پڑھنے میں رکاوٹ ڈالتی ہیں۔

یہ ترجمہ بین الاقوامی سطح پر تسلیم کیا گیا ہے اور برٹش لائبریری سمیت دیگر مشہور کتب خانوں میں موجود ہے۔

سوشل میڈیا کی اطلاعات کے مطابق محمد قیوم اعوان 30 جنوری 2012 کو وفات پا گئے اور اپنے آبائی علاقے پنڈی گھیب کے قریب اپنے گاؤں میں دفن کیے گئے۔ ان کی خدمات اور تصانیف آج بھی تحقیق و تعلیم کے میدان میں مشعل راہ ہیں۔
